Have you ever made a team build but...
We should all know about the Minoin factory builds where you have 2 MMs, 2 Res/Mo's (fastcasting monks that res), 2 sacrificers, and 2 healing monks. But you know what makes me mad about that build? About a week after the release, I told my guild of a team build that was similar to that one, and they just laughed and said it would never work. Have any of you all ever came up with a popular team build, but never could get a team together to try it, and then it ended up being used frequently?

yes and no, took me a few hours to find a few freinds to fool around in "Tombs" with a build of mine, We pretty much made it up as we went along. I made a 16 WS eoe ranger, then had 3 saccers. 2 rezmers. ANd 2 monks who spammed heal party. Pretty cool. Funniest part was when we beat one team and got rite into HoH and embarrassed ourselves completely. I got like 5 fame from it, just for fun. Not sure i invented it, but i had some kinda idea

I made the new paladin build (the character)
I also witnessed the first using of IWAY
But myself...not much... Most my builds are character builds.

Hmm, I've never turned down/had a build turned down that wasn't a pure statistical impossibility, then again, that's because my fellow guildies rock.

I tried to make a team build with my monk once, and asked my other guildies if they could try it out with me because it worked great with the henches, at first they were like, "Ya, ok, sure lets try it.". Then before we went in to try it out, they just said, "Whatever, just switch to heal, and stop messing around.". I was kind of bummed, because I haven't been able to try it out yet with anyone but the henches yet. I'm not telling what it was, but I cleared the entire furnace several times with henches using it.
oops, I guess it would be more of a character build, but I was using the team to do it.

A friend came up with a modified ranger spike team, thant in theory, could deal well over 20 000dmg in less then 20 second... no kidding. Requires a lot of coordination and team work too pull it off doh, so we did not have the setting to try it out for good. But hey, maybie one day you guys will see it.

As a Mesmer and Ranger (since launch) I have come up with several builds that my guild thought were low viability builds... at least a couple or similar variants have been FotM builds.
